These gatherings take place before the 4 quarter & 4 cross quarter points of the Celtic calendar, traditionally called the Wheel of the Sun. This 8 spoked wheel takes us through the turning of the seasons which have been celebrated in this land by our ancestors, from pagan and druid tradition. Open music session for all folk musicians, singers, dancers! The purpose of the meetup is to have a forum where musicians (or budding musicians) can meet and play with other musicians in an informal atmosphere. A large part of the music we play is (and probably always will be) traditional Irish music, but if you don't play that, don't let it put you off coming along to try out some bluegrass, cajun, gypsy, zydeco, blues, klezmer, breton, galician, or whatever-you-are-having-yourself!
A gathering of Irish speaker and those wanting to learn or improve their Irish. For parents of children in Gaelscoileanna, for past-pupils who are now parents themselves, or for anyone who loves the language and wants an opportunity to use it in everyday conversation. You don't need to be fluent in the language, so long as you are willing to have a go with whatever Irish you have and mix with like-minded friends. Every Thursday evening at 8pm; Molloy's Foxes Covert, Tallaght (Horseshoe Lounge).
Calling all new arrivals and natives who love Irish culture, we will be meeting up to do lots of fun things with an Irish influence.Whether you want to learn English or Irish, or just learn some more about Ireland, we will have the meet up for you.
